Post Mortem

Sat Dec 12, 2009, 8:06 AM
As maybe a few of you have seen already, the livejournal for my comic "Post Mortem" is updated weekly again, for some time now. At least I try to update weekly, which sometimes is a bit difficult. :)

There haven't been many comments, understandable considering I have neglected it for such a long time, and I do not want to push anyone to it.

Anyway, I would be very curious about your opinions on my update today... which isn't really a update, more a query about a topic.
If you feel like it, go on and read it, and please post your opinion on the matter, either directly as comment in the journal, or here. Just as you like. Everybody can comment in the journal, no registration required.
I really would love to hear what you people think. :)

Daily Deviation

Whoa... thank you all very much for the faves and comments on my deviation "The secret of existence"... I don't think I ever received such a big and nice resonance before.
You guys are awesome!

If you feel particulary nice and like my strange way of thinking, just like the DNA-Giraffes, take a look on my project "Post Mortem"... I'd really love to hear your imputs

Update

Sun Aug 30, 2009, 8:45 AM
Um yeah... hullo?

Just a little update on my behalf after the longer absence. :)
So ...what's the news?
I cleaned up my gallery... considerably.
I discovered an interesting antipathy to colouring digitally..
...my comic "Post Mortem" is getting delayed to unknown time and space...

...I am a geeky weirdo?
Nah, that's not news, is it? ;)

...looking eagerly forward to my second year at art-school...
(... and "Dragon Age - Origins" and "Mass Effect 2", for that matter =P )
.. I haven't deliberately overlooked the "theme suggestions", but they are not tied to a specific deadline... they are meant to be mental practice for times of brain-death. :)

And I'm afraid I will bug you nice people with a whole lot more art of my two projects, my comic "Post Mortem" and this weird steampunk/sci-fi/fantasy story... :)

Oh, and do not forget to hop by to the PostMortem-livejournal from time to time. :)
I'd love to hear your opinions!

...conceptart-Sketchbook!

Fri Jun 12, 2009, 11:38 AM
First:
Thought long enough about it, and now thanks to :iconcheezycat: I registred myself at conceptart.org now. - Go me!
As soon as I come up with a bunch of sketches I will link my "sketchbook" here. :)

Second: Momentarily I am fully concentrating on overworking my style, and kinda... get rid of it. I recognized that I'm stuck with a few selected ways of drawing, and especially stuck with the motives I choose. And I know I am a bit ... approachable to become monotonous, so want to stop it as long as I can.

Third: Because of this I am taking a little break of dA. Nope, not the tearful dramaqueen - kind of break, and than coming back within three days, but I just can see a connection between this monotone and dA, as curious as it is, so I want to see what happens when I am not logged in permanently.
You may or may not recognize any absence, it's more about ME feeling any difference.

And if you want to follow my art, just give the livejournal of my comic a click, or visit my sketchbook (as soon as I link it here) :)

Just a little something...

Fri May 29, 2009, 9:24 AM
....well, nothing of real matter, actually, there are just two things I would like to write about.

First: I've observed with some amusement that my deviation ---> "Basil of Bakerstreet" [link] already hit the "200" faves - mark.
Most viewed and faved deviation in my gallery, and I don't know if I should be happy about it or just bang my head at a wall for several times.

And now to the second subject I want to raise.
Look, I don't want to sound insulting or like some drama-kiddie who doesn't have an own life, but dA is practically the only platform of art and exchange of artists I currently have, so I kind of wish to make the best of it. Though I am truly considering to search for a more critical, mature and honest community...

Anyway - I am not really angered or in desperate need of attention, or something, but I am a little bit frustrated to be ... categorized like that.
Yes, I have drawn a lot of foxes and animals in the past, and I can completely understand that people most likely watched me for that. Let's get it straight: I've drawn furry-art, because I am fascinated by nature and animals, and I am still, but I am not a furry.
And I begin to be frustrated that people only feel inclined to drop a comment when they see some cute furry-art. And even then only a "awesome!" or "cute!"

Really: I am not crying out loud a la "BWUHU - I AM LEAVING 4-EVA!!!", but please:

To all those who are looking at my gallery: Please look once and only PAST the furry-art I still have in it because I didn't have the heart to delete it, and look at MY projects, look at the livejournal of my comic PostMortem. ( [link] ).
And if you are going to watch me for the furry - art, then simply don't. Because there won't be any in the future, and I surely don't want to be a part of the furry-community.
I am an ARTIST, and I want to be seen as an ARTIST, and not as a furry.

Thank you very much,

Caboodle
